A hand-decorated 24m² pod with its own 25m² terrace, ocean views, and sheep grazing right outside the fence. Sleeps 3, with self check-in and free on-site parking.
Butterfly PODika sits above the water at Klingrahoull, a few minutes from Lerwick. Inside, it's warm, colourful and a little whimsical — every wall has a story. Outside, it's raw Shetland: wind, cliffs, sheep, and a horizon that doesn't stop. Check in yourself, any time after 3pm — the keys are waiting on the terrace.
A working kitchen, a proper bathroom, and a living space wrapped in hand-picked butterfly décor — built and decorated by hand over a year.
The terrace is the real living room. Bring something to grill, sit until the light changes, and let the island do the entertaining.
Sheep and native Shetland ponies graze right along the fence line, otters and seals work the coast below, and puffins nest on the cliffs a short drive away. Nobody charges admission.
We built Butterfly PODika by hand, one year, board by board — and we're the ones who'll answer if something needs sorting during your stay. We're happy to point you toward the best of the islands: lighthouses, brochs, beaches, and where the otters actually show up.
Original folk songs and cinematic footage of the islands — a side project we make purely because we love this place. Start with the song written about the pod itself.
